| xqR @ WCG Grand Finals |
November 06, 2008 |

The World Cyber Games 2008 kicks off tomorrow at 12:00PM, CET. However due to the Counter-Strike tournament having so many participants, the opening group stages have been split into 2 days - xqR begin playing on the 2nd day.
While waiting for all the action to begin, an interesting read would be GotFrag's "WCG Group Predictions" series. Here is a link to the Group F Prediction, where xqR are expected to proceed to bracket play behind Gravitas Gaming.
Below you can find xqR's entire group stage schedule, we will be providing spectating tips (HLTV IP's) and exclusive news updates from Cologne, Germany.
NOTE: All match times have been converted to Singapore time (+8 GMT).

If a tie in points shall occur, I believe the team with the higher round difference will proceed. If not, WCG may decide to use the head-to-head rule, which was the case in 2006.

| Progress Report |
November 01, 2008 |
Helloooo people,
The team is still at its bootcamp at Inferno Online, Sweden. We are playing Eruopeīs top teams on a regular basis, including MiBR, who are here at the lan cafe with us everyday.
The team is improving. Slowly, but surely. The practice schedule is quite intense, starting after lunch everyday until around 4:00AM (basically over 12 hours everyday). We are being treated well over here, the management at the cafe is very nice and have given us the pleasure of being able to practice whenever we want, without any waiting. The weather is terrible, it goes below zero degrees celsius every night but thatīs Sweden in November for you :P
The teamīs game day at WCG is Friday, November 7th. Right now we are trying to set up a QuakeNet channel so everyone can easily follow the teamīs progress (QuakeNet is Europeīs main IRC server).
I guess thatīs that for now. īTill anymore updates, this is Erik signing off ;D |

| Team xqR arrives in Sweden |
October 25, 2008 |
Just a quick update, the majority of the team has arrived in Sweden. Unfortunately, not the entire team could fly down yesterday as originally planned. These are the players that are in Sweden it currently stands:
Nicholas 'nic' Ho
Zul 'zul' Fadli
Isaac 'isaac' Chua
I am also glad to announce that our former player: Erik 'erikL' Larsson is there accompanying the team and helping them train until spitty and I arrive later next week.
Other than the above mentioned individuals, we also have the pleasure of keeping company with two dear friends, Darren and Yang.
Oh and a quick fun fact, our guys were on the same flight back to Sweden as mIBR! I would like to quickly thank Inferno Online for offering us their LAN shop for a bootcamp too. Until I can come back with further updates, xqR.myztery signing off. |

| xqR WCG Wrap-up |
August 09, 2008 |

After a long 2 days, there is finally a conclusion to the WCG Singapore Nationals. Just to clear up a few things, xqR did have two teams playing, under the flagships - xqR and xqR.AG.
The xqR lineup consisted of:
Daniel 'myztery' Seaton
Chris 'spitty' Seaton
Isaac 'Isaac' Wejie
Nicholas 'nic' Ho
Zul 'zul' Fadli
xqR and xqR.AG were unfortunately drafted into the same Group (G) with xqR coming out on top, getting the relatively easier side of the draw. Again this year WCG chose to play a single-elimination format and the results for both teams are as follows:
Top 16
xqR 16 > 9 Noobs Incoming!
xqR.AG 16 > 3 RtL
Quarter-Finals
xqR 16 > 6 oOo
xqR.AG 16 > 13 Rage Faction
Semi-Finals
xqR 16 > 13 wwts
xqR.AG 16 > 4 WwF.
And last but not least the finals with both of our teams meeting, a repeat of the GXL finals from late last year. Ultimately xqR triumphed over xqR.AG and took the title again after a 1 year hiatus, with the only original member from the WCG winning 2006 team being myztery I took some time to ask him a quick question.
How does it feel to win?
It's great to be able to represent Singapore again, it was very disappointing losing last year and to be able to redeem myself and the team was amazing, it's a little sad that I did not have a few of my old team mates by my side though. With all things said and done though, I am also grateful, especially for Nic's efforts this year, he pulled me out from under the rough and basically forced me to play this year even though me and Chris were reluctant, and ultimately it paid off.
xqR will be keeping you all updated on everything leading up to our campaign in Cologne, Germany to represent Singapore once again. A big shout-out to all the fans and supporters that were there over the two days. We would also like to extend personal shout-outs to Lawrence, Darren, Grace, Angel, Kelly and Emily all for being there through thick and thin! We love you guys. Last but not least, the people behind rapture, notably the head admins, Andrei and Fudgie for their hard work. |
